This week is a bit of a bun fight as we have 51 candidates fighting the 8 by elections. Glasgow Govan with 14 candidates is the one which is pushing this up but we do have a lot of candidates from a lot of parties. I have not put them down individually but in the others sections which totals 13 you have the likes of the Pirate Party, Borders Party, Britannica, then you have BNP, TUSC, ENG DEMS so as none have a realistic chance and don't appear too regularly I have put them under others for the moment.
When these by elections were last held 21,894 votes were cast
Labour 8,183 votes 37.4%
Conservatives 4,823 votes 22%
Independents 2,582 votes 11.8%
SNP 2,240 votes 10.2%
OTHERS 1,524 votes 6.9%
Liberal Democrats 1,164 votes 5.3%
UKIP 723 votes 3.3%
Green Party 655 votes 3%
This is the first time for a while where Labour are the defenders of a large percentage lead it will be interesting to see if they can defend it or how much of it they will lose.
